I was in Vegas a few weeks ago and dined at a number of fantastic restaurants. Here are some of the places I tried:
Carenvino (in The Palazzo) – some of the best meat you’ll ever have. Most of the people in my party enjoyed the steak, but I tried the lamb and it was fantastic. But everything is very expensive, so if you’re short on cash after a long day of gambling, this might not be the best place to end up.
Dos Caminos (in The Palazzo) – standard Mexican. Pretty good, though not much better than most other Mexican places I’ve been to. If you’re craving Mexican and you’ve got the time, I’m sure there’s a place off-strip you could try for cheaper (and more authentic) food.
Society Cafe (in Encore) – tried this place twice. The first time, I wasn’t too impressed. The second time I was very impressed. So my experience really depended upon the meal I chose. I did really like the decor, though.
Sushisamba (in The Palazzo) – an innovative mix of Japanese and Brazilian food. The sushi is quite good, and the cocktails were yummy as well.
Wazuzu (in Encore) – A mix of Thai, Japanese, and other types of Asian food. Tasted great, was very filling, and the prices were reasonable. Plus, they have a gigantic crystal dragon in the back of the dining room — what could beat that?
Wing Lei (in Wynn) – this place seemed to be touted as something very special, but I wasn’t really feeling the vibe. Too stuffy in there, I guess. The food was better than average, but I’d take Sushisamba or Wazuzu over Wing Lei anytime.
So that’s my round-up of Vegas restaurants. Have you been to any of the above? If so, what did you think?
