Learn MorePlanet Hollywood’s “Peepshow”
Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas has opened its newest show called Peepshow. Peepshow consists of a star-studded cast including Dancing With the Stars first-season winner Kelly Monaco and the Spice Girl’s Melanie Brown (Mel B. a.k.a. Scary Spice).
Creator, director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell wanted to create a big-budget production which mixes classic burlesque style with contemporary music, live singing and dancing. Basically, Mitchell wanted to create a show which has it “all” and Peepshow seems to deliver. The story line follows a modern day woman who falls asleep and finds herself delivered into the world of Little Red Riding Hood, Little Bo-Peep and friends.
Peepshow has been criticized for being nothing but over-sexualized-titty-show-fluff, but if it was otherwise, then it wouldn’t be Las Vegas, right? The 90 minute show is filled with G-strings, high heels, stripper poles, cheerleader outfits, catholic school girl skirts and nipple pasties. At one point Mel B grabs a male dancer’s crotch then pretends to kick it.
Like everything in Las Vegas, you must take Peepshow with a grain of salt. It’s a fun, sexy, raunchy orgy for the eyes. If one would take it too seriously, as some of it’s critics have, then they will miss the humor and talent hiding beneath all the nudity.
