Learn MoreThe Orleans Hotel and Casino
The Orleans Hotel and Casino is one of the nicer off strip casinos. The Orleans has a Mardi Gras theme that is prevalent in the design of the building and presentation inside the casino. They always try to promote a good time and they try and keep the place lively. I had the pleasure to stay at the Orleans in 2006 while playing at the World Series of Poker and I was pleasantly surprised with how nice the hotel was. I paid about 49 a night for my stay there, mostly due to the fact I was playing in their event, but what I got for $49 far exceeded my expectations. The rooms were nice and big, and very clean and they are all wired for High Speed Internet access. One thing that impressed me the most was security. You do not get to go inside the hotel unless you have a room key and the security forces you to show them the key each and every time you go up, even if you just went by them. I like that. Gaming at the Orleans is fantastic. If you can think of it, they have it here; slots, video poker, roulette, craps, blackjack, horse racing, sports betting, and poker. For you poker players out there, the Orleans is one of the places to go for daily tournaments. They have daily NL Holdem tournaments and for you Omaha Hi Lo enthusiast, they even run 2 Omaha 8 events weekly. The Orleans is also host to the Orleans Open, an event that runs every July and boasts strong fields and great events in various formats of poker. The next time you’re in Vegas, stop by the Orleans and check them out. If you need a nice room that is secure, reasonably priced, and near the strip, the Orleans fits the bill as well. Good luck, and have fun in Vegas!
