A Cheap Place to Stay That Isnt So Cheap

Posted on April 6th, 2008 by James Guill in Las Vegas

So you’re in Vegas and you need a place to stay.  You really don’t want to stay at the casino’s and you don’t want to end up staying on either “crack alley” or in a hotel that will cost you as much as your airplane ticket.  Where do you stay?  Let me tell you about a place on Flamingo that a lot of people don’t know about but in my opinion is a great place to stay, and that would be Crestwood Suites.

Crestwood Suites is an extended stay hotel chain that has most of its branches in the south, but has 2 located in Las Vegas.  It is not by any means the fanciest place in Vegas, but for the money, it is probably one of the best deals.  I personally stayed there 6 weeks this past summer while attending the World Series of Poker.  All rooms include a full kitchen with working stove, microwave and full refrigerator.  In addition you have unlimited high speed internet in every room.  This was a life saver while out there as I work from home and need a broadband connection.

This hotel was also in a decent area of town, less than a mile from the strip.  We never had any problems while we stayed there, and the property has security that patrol at all times.  The main downside to this property is that it is an extended stay hotel, which means that you have maid service only twice a week and if you need towels switched any other day, you have to do so yourself.

The main thing that sold me about this place was the price.  I paid an average of $50 a night for my stay in Vegas.  Basically I had my own little apartment for about $1500 for a month with ALL utilities included.  That’s a steal in my opinion.  If you’re out in Vegas for a day or a month, check out Crestwood Suites.
