If you never have been to Las Vegas I would suggest going. All my life I have wanted to go there because every time I saw it on television it looked so inviting and the name Las Vegas simply just makes you want to go. I finally fulfilled my dream of going to Las Vegas almost 3 years ago when my husband and I decided to elope there. I’m happy to report that I was not disappointed and I begged my husband to stay an extra day. Of course he told me we couldn’t and ever since then I’ve wanted to go back. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to go back but after waiting almost 3 long years looks like I will get that opportunity, because my husband might have to go out there for 4 months for work.
Contrary to to belief there is a lot to be seen and done in Las Vegas besides gambling. For one there are tons of very entertaining shows to be seen, there’s Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, the Venetian has incredible Gondola rides. There are a few places that offer amazing helicopter rides over the stripe at night. Also in driving distance there is the Hoover Dam which there is not a word I can think of to even describe how big the structure is and then you have the Grand Canyon, where you can either drive there or hop on one of the many tour buses that will take you there. I could go on forever about things to do there besides gambling but I will spare you the time.
However, just like any other city out there, there are some bad parts to Las Vegas where several homeless people are due to the fact that they came out there and bet every last penny they had. But if you live in any major city seeing homeless people isn’t out of the norm. Also they have their dead beat drunks and druggies just like any other place in the world. One thing that I found to be absolutely wonderful about this town is it is not dirty. The streets are kept clean and police are always patrolling town to make sure everything is in order.
So if you are thinking about going to Las Vegas do it. My one tip of advice is to make sure you have plenty of money, your trip to Sin City will definitely not be cheap.
