One of the little known secrets I’ve discovered is that airfares to Vegas are very cheap. Why? because the city wants you there … because they know you’ll pump money into their economy and gamble away … but what many who are looking for a cheap ticket out west is to use Vegas as a stopoff. I once saved $250 on flying to Vegas when I wanted to go to Los Angeles. I flew into Vegas on a special fare, rented a car for $30, and drove 2 hours to get to L.A., turned in the car, and voila … a savings of $250.
