Vegas has always been known for its gambling, now one restauranteur wants it to be known for fine dining as well.
The NY Times has a nice pice onJoel Robuchon and the Mansion, which opened on Monday at the MGM Grand.
The Mansion:
… represents a leap back into the rarefied realm of haute cuisine, from which he “retired” in 1996. During the tryouts preceding its official debut, the restaurant served the best food in Las Vegas, by a decisive margin, and some of the very best French food I have ever eaten on this continent.
This isn’t quite the Skyy Vodka drinking, Paris Hilton spotting, lap dance getting, cocaine snorting Vegas scene here.

So, if you’re into that haughty-taughty, highfalutin, high society thing
– sounds like the Mansion is the place to be (or just eat?) in Las Vegas.
