Something Silly

It is really amazing what some people will do for love. My older brother is a terrific example of this. When he was 18, his girlfriend moved into our house with him and they shared a room for about 6 months, until he managed to get her pregnant.

When she told him he booked a train to New Mexico (from Oregon) and ran to him mom to get some advice. Being the loving, sweet lady she is, she assured him that sleeping with his girlfriend for six months with no protection was not his fault and he did not have to deal with this situation. He kept in contact for awhile, always promising to come back soon until one day he called and said that he would never come back. He apologized to her and hung up.

She cried for a long time and swore off men and freaked out. All until I sugguested she give him another chance. So she left, she drove down to his mother’s house, called him out to the car, and told him the good news… It was a boy. She assured him that if he did not get into that car at that very moment, he would never see his son. Getting into the car was not her only condition. He had to marry her on the way back up to Oregon.

One long drive and many pitstops later, they were married and back in the house.
