Las Vegas Revealed

Posted on June 9th, 2009 by Sethubai Baskaran in Las Vegas

I have been to Las Vegas four times.Every time when I go there, I used to play the slot machines.
But I had no luck.Everytime I will loose fifty dollars and then I stop. But one of my friend went to Las Vegas recently. She has never played slot machines before and this was her first Las Vegas trip.
The first time she put dollar coins and she got 800 dollars!! Not bad for a first -timer!! Next time when I go to Las Vegas, I am going to stay away from the slot machines and try something new.

Any more that there are a lot of different states that are trying to copy, of what Las Vegas is has been doing for years. That they are just finding out that they have been losing out on alot of money that they are making and that everyone. Which it means that everyone does not have to leave far from home no more, but just have a couple of hours of driving time. Some, does not even have to leave from home and that, they are now starting to do it from the internet now. Well, they have been doing it for a whille but it is now getting bigger, and more reconized.

Vegas and the economy

Posted on June 1st, 2009 by Esperanza Dodge in Las Vegas

I’m finding that the economy is hitting Las Vegas too. This is actually beneficial to me as a tourist because the prices are lowered in order to get my business! I was able to find many packages lower than $200 on the strip and even lower off of it. You can get one of the more upscale packages for only $300-$350. What I searched for are airfare + 4 days, 3 nights. I couldn’t believe how inexpensive it was. A flight to somewhere else alone costed nearly $400. And this one includes hotel too, sweet. Hotels really need tourists’ business. There are many rooms that are unoccupied and I *heard* if you slip some money to the clerk, you just might get an upgrade to a nicer room. I really haven’t decided if I want to take advantage of the super sweet deals and get a really cheap hotel or if I want to splurge another $150 or so and get a really nice place and maybe an extra night. Either way I’m really lucking out on a good deal right now with the state of the economy and Las Vegas needing my business.

Lasvegas Trips

Myself and my husband visited Las vegas for four times. But every time we visit we see a different
Las vegas. Each time we see one or two new casinos. We make it a point to see the new casinos first.
Then we go for one or two time share presentations. They are really exciting. The offer sometimes free lunch or dinner, and some times free shows.I really enjoy watching these shows. We get to visit the Timeshare resorts. They are awesome.Right now the timeshare are selling at a discount. We are planning to buy timeshare in Las Vegas, since it is on of our favorite vacation spot.

The World Series of Poker kicked off its 40th tournament Thursday in downtown Las Vegas at the Rio hotel and casino. The WSOP has become a great tradition where poker amateurs and legends engage in the opportunity to find fame and fortune through the timeless game of poker. With a $40,000 entrance fee this tournament is definitely not your average weekend game with the boys. The winner of this year’s main event will earn 12 million dollars, a WSOP bracelet and the prestigious title of champion.

Last year’s champion Peter Eastgate was the youngest winner in WSOP history. The 22-year-old player form Denmark dropped out of college to play poker full-time and has won a total of nearly 10 million dollars doing so. What’s most surprising is that Eastgate considers himself an avid online player and can be found at high-stakes tables on the website PokerStars. More and more professional players can be found online as the internet poker community grows larger.

Some familiar faces who entered the tournament is show-stopper Phil Hellmuth, poker legend Doyle Brunson, token female player Jennifer Harmon and fan favorite Daniel Negreanu. Newer to the scene are young players who have been introduced to the game through popular online poker sites like Full Tilt. With the explosion of internet poker and national television coverage, the WSOP has attracted and drawn positive attention to Las Vegas the game of poker at large. With 58,000 players in 55 events, this year’s seven week tournament will surely be one to remember.

I can not say nothing good nor bad about vegas, i knew people that has been to vegas and that they had told me that they had spent alot of money there. They had wished that they did not spent all that money. My mother-in-law has been to vegas and that she likes it alot and that she wants to move out there, i had told her that if she likes it that well, why don’t she move out there, but do not include me either. Because that i have no desire to go there, if i wanted to go somewhere the place that i would want to go is to Tenn. rockies where it is so beautiful and to just enjoy it there for about a week.

Vegas for Summer Break

Posted on May 19th, 2009 by Esperanza Dodge in Las Vegas

I am 27 years old and have never been to Vegas. I’ve been to various countries and various states around the US and can you believe Vegas has never been one of them? I think I may have stepped foot in Nevada before but can’t remember for what. I’ve been to LV, NM but that is so different.

So I’m thinking its about time in my life I try Vegas out. I have the summer free and want to go somewhere to have a little fun. Relaxation would be nice but I have a feeling Vegas isn’t about relaxing. It’s about getting out and partying, right?

So I’ve done a little research and found that a hotel plus airfare is pretty inexpensive. Nice! I’m looking forward to seeing Vegas for the first time in my life, seeing what all the hoopla is about and buying suveniers for the kids. This should be a blast.

Did you enjoy going to Vegas

I went to vegas three years with a couple of friends of mine. It was the spring break, that we just want to spend our vacation on somewhere we never been to before. Las Vegas seems one of great choice for us. It was April, and the weather in Las Vegas was hot, scorching hot by then.

We booked the ticket through online, and I remember that I had to pay $300 or more for my own. I bring a couple of hundreds along the way to Vegas, the rest of spending, I probably have to use my credit cards to cover it up.

My friend already book up a hotel in the Vegas through online. It was a hotel that shaped like a castle, called “Excalibur”. We four people all living in the same room. Due the stricken financial situation. We just have to squeeze to one room. We end up spend most of our times on the Casino gambling. My friends jut couldn’t help themselves to gamble all their money away. Thousand of thousands of dollars just gone like a wind. I am more leashed my temptation. I just spend a couple of hundreds, then I quit on gambling there. It just not my type of game at all.

In Vegas, we couldn’t just gamble everyday. We also went to see shows there. Many of them are extravagant. No wonder Vegas is such as an oasis from the desert. I like it there.

Texas-based Ronn Motor Company rolled out its hydrogen hybrid supercar last week at the Specialty Equipment Marketing Association Show (SEMA) in Las Vegas. The Scorpion is a wildly sculpted exotic vehicle that can hit 200 miles per hour, while promising 40 miles per gallon on the highway.

The Scorpion is powered by a hydrogen-assisted Acure 3.5-liter V-6 engine with a close ratio six-speed transmission. This engine produces 289 horsepower in stock form, and can be upgraded to 450 horses with an optional twin turbo. But unlike most hydrogen systems in development, this one does not utilize fuel cells-and the Scorpion does not have electric motors. Instead, the car’s newly developed technology burns a blend of hydrogen and gasoline. Adding hydrogen to the internal combustion engine reportedly improve fuel efficiency by as much as 40 percent.

“Ronn Maxwell, chief executive officer of Ronn Motor Company, Said, “We have a system that produces hydrogen as we drive down the road.”

The on-board hydrogen system developed by Hydrorunner uses dual computer processors to produce hydrogen from water contained in a small tank. Essentially, it is a process similar to electrolysis, in which water is charged with electricity in order to release hydrogen molecules. Hydrogen is then injected into the powertrain as needed. This eliminates the need for high-pressure storage tanks, or for that matter, hydrogen-fueling stations.

“Our system uses water from your garden hose to create hydrogen on demand,” said company COO Damon Kuhn. “The infrastructure to support this technology is here right now, not 10 years from now.”

The potential for this technology to reach the mass market is limited-because of cost. The price of the Scorpion will be in the range of $150,000 to $250,000. The company is taking pre-orders now. But act fast-production numbers for the Scorpion will be limited to approximately 200 per year.

Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas has opened its newest show called Peepshow. Peepshow consists of a star-studded cast including Dancing With the Stars first-season winner Kelly Monaco and the Spice Girl’s Melanie Brown (Mel B. a.k.a. Scary Spice).

Creator, director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell wanted to create a big-budget production which mixes classic burlesque style with contemporary music, live singing and dancing. Basically, Mitchell wanted to create a show which has it “all” and Peepshow seems to deliver. The story line follows a modern day woman who falls asleep and finds herself delivered into the world of Little Red Riding Hood, Little Bo-Peep and friends.

Peepshow has been criticized for being nothing but over-sexualized-titty-show-fluff, but if it was otherwise, then it wouldn’t be Las Vegas, right? The 90 minute show is filled with G-strings, high heels, stripper poles, cheerleader outfits, catholic school girl skirts and nipple pasties. At one point Mel B grabs a male dancer’s crotch then pretends to kick it.

Like everything in Las Vegas, you must take Peepshow with a grain of salt. It’s a fun, sexy, raunchy orgy for the eyes. If one would take it too seriously, as some of it’s critics have, then they will miss the humor and talent hiding beneath all the nudity.
